The PXW-X70 uses 1.0 type Exmor R™ CMOS sensor capable of 4K resolution (4096 x 2160). Smooth slow or quick motion with full HD quality is available without any extra processing. High sensitivity and fantastic resolution with 14.2 million effective pixels, delivers striking detail and colours, even in low light conditions.
The PXW-X70 incorporates a 1.0 type Exmor R CMOS sensor, which is approximately the same size as a Super16mm film frame, to achieve high resolution, high sensitivity, low noise, and wide dynamic range. The sensor was developed specifically for professionals, so you can look forward to high-quality shots even in difficult conditions.

The camcorder allows for XAVC 4K (QFHD)100Mbps recording at 30p/25p/24p, plus MPEG HD422 50Mbps and MPEG HD420, providing even more recording choices. The UHD (3840 × 2160) can be recorded at speeds of up to 30 fps. The camcorder is compatible with SD/SDHC/SDXC that can be placed in each of the two slots. The PXW-X70 can be used in the same way as conventional professional handy-type cameras. The content can be recorded by a minimal number of staff using the viewfinder or 3.5" display
The Wi-Fi allows for wireless transmission of videos to smart devices, social networks or the cloud. Focus, zoom, aperture settings and ‘record start/stop’ can be remote controlled using the browser function of a smartphone or tablet. You can also use the NFC for wireless connection. The camera is equipped with high-quality Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* lens offering a 12x optical zoom for 4K formats.
