The most powerful models of the iPhone 13 generation are here. iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will catch the eye of the most demanding users. What do this year's most expensive and best-equipped smartphones from Apple bring to their users?
A year has gone by and after last year's launch of the four iPhone 12 generation models, we have witnessed a new launch. This time Apple has shown us four new iPhone 13 models. They are iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In this article, we'll break down the latest iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, the more expensive and feature-packed couple.
During the event itself, a pre-recorded video with spectacular editing was shown. Apple always does a great job with the presentation that is very visually appealing. Several employees took turns on the virtual stage and showed us not only the new iPhone 13 series, but also other new products such as Apple iPad, Apple AirPods 3 and Apple Watch Series 7.
To make it easier to distinguish between iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max from this generation's models, there have been slight changes. The top screen cutout has undergone a slimming treatment. It's not that it's barely visible, but the display now features more space. The top speaker has moved a little higher, closer to the top edge. The smaller cutout can be found in all models without exception. Let's move to the back.
As expected, we can see slight changes here as well. Such as slightly thicker and more pronounced protrusions that hold the rear cameras. Cameras on the back now take up more space and make it clear that the photographic performance has been improved. New colours include Graphite, Silver, Gold and Sierra Blue.
With the 6.1" Pro and 6.7" Pro Max, we still get a high-quality OLED HDR display. Users are comfortable with these sizes and can work with them comfortably, while enjoying a sufficiently large and high-quality image. However, there is one feature that iPhone displays have always lacked, until now. It was a more dynamic refresh rate, which comes into play with 120 Hz in the Pro models of the next-generation iPhone 13. The responsiveness of iPhone 13 Pro will thus be more noticeable, for example, even when moving around in the system.
We've known the invention called ProMotion from iPad Pro and now it has been brought to iPhone through the use of LTPO display technology. To save battery, this frequency does not run nonstop, but it is dynamically adjusted automatically between the values of 10 and 120 Hz as needed.
The new iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chip. It logically outperforms the high-performance A14 Bionic. The chip features six cores, two of which are performance-oriented and four of which are energy-efficient. Apple is looking at both performance and energy efficiency, which is also true for the A15 Bionic. For lovers of graphically intensive games and applications, this is the most powerful graphics chip in a smartphone to date. It has a total of five cores, one more than the previous generation. It is also complemented by the 16-core Neural Engine for augmented reality.
There's no question that iPhones boast quality cameras. In the Pro models, we always witness the best parameters. This is no different this year. iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max feature three cameras - wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lens - complemented by a LiDAR sensor. These are familiar features, but there are also quite a lot of new ones.
iPhone 13 Pro comes equipped with a sensor shift for better optical image stabilisation and it now has up to 15x digital zoom instead of 10x. The lenses on both Pro models can now also handle macro mode. From just 2 centimetres away, you can enjoy close-ups of the veins on a leaf that's fallen from a tree, the body structure of an insect, or water droplets. Night photography enthusiasts will be pleased to know that all cameras have a night mode.
Apple has also introduced photo styles, which make it easy to adjust individual image layers, such as colour temperature, brightness and more. New arrival is also Cinematic mode with the option to blur the background while shooting and even change it in subsequent editing. For more advanced footage editing, the Pro models offer ProRes video feature coming later this year. The front 12Mpx selfie camera can handle both ProRes and Cinematic mode.
To make sure you don't miss out on the chance to try night mode shooting of Dolby Vision videos after a full day's work, the new iPhone 13 comes equipped with a larger battery. iPhone 13 Pro gives you up to 1.5 hours more of battery life compared to iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 13 Pro Max boasts 2.5 hours more than iPhone 12 Pro Max. This is especially useful when you're connected to a fast 5G data network. Connectivity is also provided by Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and gigabit LTE. Apple Pay won't come as a surprise.
The 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max models do not differ in their features. So it's up to you to decide whether you're happy with the phone's more compact screen size and lower weight, or whether you want the biggest screen available.

iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max have seen improvements of the already advanced photography equipment and have been given larger batteries on top of that. Those who don't want to save space have the option of going for the 1TB storage option. That's a very solid base and the post of the best iPhone available for purchase is well deserved.
