for years I have the Echo Show 8 from Japan and maximum satisfaction, with Dot I plugged another room
display and dimming at night is great
fast response
I have connected accessories from several manufacturers and thanks to skills connected - smart sockets dlink, thermohead Netatmo, cameras dlink, car heating Škoda (webasto from the factory)
the big advantage is that if you teach Alexa something on one device under the same account using skills, the next device under the same account can of course do it right from the start. I put everything in Show 8 and Dot can do it too
integrated thermometer, it tells the temperature in the room - that is, the average
missing CZ, but that doesn't bother me, he understands my commands in AJ. in 97% of cases
older Samsung TV does not have the accompanying skill for control

Better than Google (I have 3x googles, 1x alexa)
It shows the time and when you ask the temperature, or if the song changes, the name of the song
You can change the brightness of the clock, or turn it off completely (even on voice command)
Compared to Google, it understands the Czech accent in my English (although it's still a struggle)

Connection and support for Spotify without a problem, only when you want to use it, so you have to specify it, Amazon quite pushes its products and services through Alexa
I have it set to "Alexa" wake word and it doesn't hear me often enough. You can put other things in there (echo, computer) but Alexa is probably the best for me.
Sound quality not much
The automation is a bit obscure, but it can be adjusted with patience. But it doesn't always execute all the instructions completely (I have about 15 smart lights and sometimes a few don't turn off the first time, I don't find it such a problem)
It's still not the same, but I don't think I want to look for a golden game in the homepod anymore.
Compared to the German/Czech amazon overpriced by about 600, but Amazon will not send it to the Czech Republic because it is "not supported here"
Connecting to some IoT is more complicated than Google Home, but I find it more stable

Simply the top assistant of the last generation in a nice package that will stand out on your bedside table or anywhere else. I bought it along with the homepod mini from apple and I'm returning that one, the echo dot is much further away.
