Wireless N Quadband PoE Access Point D-Link DAP-2690 AirPremier range of solutions allows companies to deploy a new generation of wireless local area networks (WLAN) based on the 802.11n standard. This access point is designed for indoor mounting and allows network administrators to build manageable, highly robust and secure wireless network. The device provides industrial grade wireless security by supporting both Personal and Enterprise versions of WPA and WPA2. It has a built-in RADIUS server, so administrators do not have to invest money into another system. This access point supports up to 8 VLANs and use more network name (SSID) to effectively segment users on the network. With the ability to use multiple SSID can be physically installed to reduce the number of access points and to keep costs to a minimum level. Other features include MAC address filtering, SSID broadcast disable rogue AP detection and to improve the protection of wireless networks.

D-LINK DAP-2690 can be configured in any one of several operating modes: Access Point (AP), Wireless Distribution System (WDS) with AP, WDS/Bridge (no function AP) and wireless client. With WDS support, network administrators can deploy in the area several access points and configure them together to create a bridge while also providing network access to individual clients.
