BOOKEEN CYBOOK GEN3, 6" E-ink display
Bookeen Cybook GEN3 is a very innovative unit within the newly forming category of devices known as "electronic books". With several such devices, we have been able to meet, none of them but not show the E-Ink technology, in other words, the electronic ink. With this technology, the display drawing power from the battery only at the moment when the redrawing its contents. This is only a fraction of a second every few minutes. Throughout the rest of the time, its consumption is zero. This allowed to significantly increase battery life of such equipment, and just Cybook GEN3 is one of the first devices that have this technology. Battery life is the standard Li-Polymer battery with a capacity of 1000 mAh and 8000 pages of text, which may in practice represent a few hundred hours of reading.
A device with a thickness of only 8.5 mm and a diagonal display with 6 inches (600 x 800 pixels), so surely become your favorite travel companion, who almost can not kill off and especially where it is possible to record virtually an unlimited number of e-books and other texts, because the format support is really rich. In addition to text files (TXT, HTML, PalmDOC, Mobipocket), not missing the ability to view PDF files, JPG, GIF, PNG, or TFT, and also plays music in MP3 format. In addition to built-in memory with 512 MB is possible to use a memory card. One with 1 GB including approximately 250 electronic books is also part of the package. The reader communicates with a PC via USB cable. In addition, there is still audio connector with 2.5 mm connection for headphones.
