A phablet is neither a phone, nor a tablet. It is something inbetween a phone and a tablet in terms of size. The word, phablet came from the combination of the words phone and tablet. It is essentially a phone with a large display - 5.5 inches and larger. What are phablets good for, what price ranges are they in and what do you have to look our for when choosing one?

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Phablets?
A phablet of 7 inches or larger makes a good substitute for a tablet due to its display size, while its larger design offers more room for more powerful hardware and a larger battery capacity than conventional mobile phones. Phablets are better at using apps, playing games, reading e-books, editing photos and playing multimedia.
Tablet and mobile phone in one.
More power than smaller smart phones.
More convenient for multi-tasking.
A larger display increases the chance of scratches.
A phablet is more difficult to fit into your pocket.
Higher weight.
A larger display requires a higher resolution for the ultimate experience. The phablet should therefore ideally have a Full HD resolution and higher. This is especially true for a 7-inch phablet.
Phablets by Price
Phablets can be divided into several groups according to their price. You can find the right phablet for you in our offer whether you are an undemanding user or a true connoisseur. What can you expect from products at these price levels?
Phablets up to £180
Basic phablets under £180 are for undemanding users. They offer a large display, but with less resolution and they usually only have a plastic construction. Such phablets have enough power for surfing the internet, for watching videos and for playing casual games. The camera is often not of very high quality and does not have advanced shooting technology, such as optical image stabilisation or depth of field adjustment.
Sorting by price makes it easier to find cheap mobile phones with a large display.
Phablets up to £300
Phablets up to £300 are in the middle and higher class and meet most of the requirements of the average user. They have a higher resolution display, which is especially useful when watching multimedia in Full HD or editing photos. More power ensures the phablet runs smoothly even with many applications running. Phablets in this range have cameras that take better quality pictures that look good on a TV or a large monitor. In addition to a plastic construction, you can also choose phablets made of metal and glass.
Phablets over £350
Phablet with a price above £350 will satisfy the most demanding users. There are often flagship smartphones from the most famous and lesser-known brands. They have a high quality and a fine display with high resolution. Some phablets are also suitable for virtual reality. They can handle running demanding apps, playing the latest games, multi-tasking and streaming 4K videos. The high-end camera will also impress the discerning user.
If your phablet supports virtual reality, you'll need to buy virtual reality glasses.
RAM (Operating Memory) Size of Phablets
RAM significantly affects the performance of the phone. How about phablets with large displays?
1 to 2GB of RAM on phablets is enough to surf the web, watch movies and play simple games.
3 to 4GB RAM ensures the smooth operation of the phablet in any situation and comfortable multi-tasking.
More than 4GB RAM will satisfy the most demanding phablet users with the highest performance requirements.

What is the difference between RAM and ROM memory?
Random Access Memory (RAM) is a fast-reading and fast-writing memory used by running applications and the operating system to store data. Data in ROM memory (Read Only Memory) is stored permanently and can only be read.
Getting a Phablet? You Might Find a Stylus Handy
To make the most of the larger phablet display, a stylus - a touch pen - is available. It will facilitate in particular:
Working in graphic applications and photo editing.
Editing text documents and using office applications on the phablet.
Surfing the web - the stylus is thin and much more precise than a finger.
We offer you countless styluses for mobile devices. When making your choice, first check that the phablet is compatible with the stylus.
Android Phablets Dominate the Market
Phablets with Android OS are the most widespread on the market and account for approximately 80% of the phablets we sell. The advantage is a wide choice of both cheap phablets and more expensive ones. The remaining 20% are Apple iPhones, i.e. phablets with iOS.
