It's too early to tell. We're only a week in and it's August. So to the installation. I googled for 2 days to see if the thermostat would work with our stupid Junkers Ceraclass gas boiler. Finally, I sent support photos with the boiler type (so it took a few minutes to find a different type of communication than the chatbot on the manufacturer's site). During the day they wrote me back (in English) to take pictures of the thermostat. I sent it in and the next day I got an email from support to install it according to the guide in the Tado app and just put in the thermostat type. The guide (in English) in the app was simple, showed step by step. He pointed out several times to turn off the fuses and mark the wires correctly (for which there are also adhesives in the package). He also recommended taking photos of the wiring before replacement. Within 10 minutes it was up and running. The names of the terminals on the only two wires were the same on the original and new thermostat. It didn't even want to know what kind of boiler I had (can be added later). I was unnecessarily worried that some action would be needed from the manufacturer to make it work (see. various reviews). But it seems the simpler the boiler the better.

The product was purchased in November 2022 for the Baxi Eco3 Compact atmospheric boiler. Simple wiring, no problems. Until yesterday, when they replaced our old boiler with a modern Bosch Condens 5700i condensing boiler. We tried to connect Tado to the new boiler using the digital interface "BUS". In vain, the boiler doesn't respond to the thermostat. I started checking the manual for professionals and found out that you can change profiles via a button on the thermostat in a very complicated way (I don't understand why they don't have it directly in the app). Fine, I have a suitable for Bosch with EMS profile, appeared in the apce of the hot water setting. The boiler's not responding again. I turn to the Tado site, which oddly enough has no customer support email or other contacts at all. The only option is chat, where I have to go through a chatbot to the company's technician, who in the vast majority of cases refers me to the company that installed the new boiler. OK, I tell the chatbot that he installed the boiler with his own help, I get to the technician Tado. I described the situation to the Tado technician and he replies that Tado can't do these (modern! ) of Bosch boilers nothing except simple switching (! ). Yes, simple switching works (the boiler has a couple of connectors for this), but using a modern boiler like this is stupid. After less than a year since I bought the Tado, I have to throw it away and buy a new thermostat (specifically Bosch CT200) for another 6,000 CZK to control water temperatures, have equithermal control and other things for full operation of the boiler, which together with the installation cost 120,000 CZK. I blame Tado's misleading advertising materials and list of supported manufacturers, which gave no indication at all that the 2022 boiler model would not be supported by Tado. No warning, no detailed list of supported boilers. I now have the feeling that Tado is only for old "stupid" boilers, otherwise it has good heating and quality materials. I cannot recommend this product. Or check beforehand to make sure it will be compatible enough.

The thermostat itself works well, installation easy, Android app clear, stable, fast. However, a significant problem that is glossed over in the available documentation is that you can only connect one thermostat to one account! So it is not possible to have e.g. one thermostat at home and one at the cottage. According to Tado support, they have no plans to change this restriction. The only option is to create multiple accounts under different emails and access the application via the web interface. For this reason I returned the goods.

I am a 3 times measure once cut type of person - I lacked any instructions for preparation, but in the end the procedure shown during installation would probably be enough. I recommend you check out the many tutorials on YouTube.
My PC localized it based on an address a few hundred km away and I couldn't find how to change it (actually I'm not even looking for it, I simply turned off the PC from localization) - maybe that's the intention?

If Tado does not have an instruction for your boiler, you will not start the device even if you know how to do it, you just wait 2 days before Tado activates your installation and sends you the "instruction".
For EMS controlled boilers (Buderus, Bosch, etc. ) with accessories such as external water storage, circulation pump, outdoor sensor, etc. This thermostat ignores these accessories even though the EMS bus registers them. After a lengthy explanation of their support, these things are manually "completed" and activated on your account, so you can then set them up.
The device cannot be powered via the bus (cables leading to the boiler), it is powered by batteries.
